12-12-08 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with Father Kevin McDevitt

Friends are forever, so is a freezer - a perfect gift for friends, any time! Representatives from Islington Chinese Association and St Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church got together again at the lobby of SGCC on Friday 12/12/2008 for another happy occasion - a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

A frost-free freezer was presented to friends at St Gabriel's by Col Kay, Chairman of ICA. Witnessed by Father Aodh, James, Brian Boylan (representatives from St Gabriel's) and some staff and members of ICA, Lady Katy Tse Blair handed a pair of scissor to Father Kevin who then happily cut the ribbon... The best part is probably the moment after that when everyone gathered around the freezer with a glass of champagne in hand ...

The brand new, tall and smart looking freezer is now kept safely in the St Gabriel's Parish Room - the first room on the left hand side of the SGCC lobby. This is the room dedicated to activities organised and supported by St Gabriel's R.C. Church in Upper Holloway, such as the Breakfast and Lunch Club between Monday and Sunday mornings. Brain Boylan and some volunteers from St Gabriel's have been running the Club successfully for years for many people around the area to enjoy. Our hats off to them!

From us to all friends at St Gabriel's, Merry Christmas!
